Top 5 Reasons You Need Salem Air Conditioning Repair

When the temperature rises, most Salem, Oregon residents turn to their trusted air conditioning units to keep things cool. But what happens when your Salem air conditioner doesn’t work quite right? The first step is to try to identify the source of the problem – then you can contact a professional and get your Salem air conditioning problem solved.

Air conditioning problems usually fall into one of four categories: electrical problems, mechanical problems, refrigerant cycle problems and air flow problems. No matter what type of problem you’re experiencing, we can help!

Look for these five common problems and then call a Focus Heating and Air – your Salem air conditioning repair experts.

1. The air conditioner is running, but it’s not blowing cold air.

Nothing is worse than expecting a cool home and having nothing but warm air coming from the air conditioner. Warm air coming from your unit can be due to a condenser unit being broken. You could also be experiencing problems with the refrigerant. Sometimes a leak causes refrigerant to drain too quickly, or your unit may have just run out due to the normal use. Dirty condenser coils or evaporator coils could also be to blame. Finally, your metering advice could be broken which can affect your air conditioner’s ability to blow cold air.

2. The condenser fan runs, but the compressor isn’t working.

Your air compressor problems could be due to a bad electrical connection. You could also be experiencing a lock up from a foreign object or liquid refrigerant causing the problem. A bad electrical connection to the compressor could also be to blame.

3. The central air conditioner is running – but there’s not enough air.

When your outdoor unit or indoor unit is running, but you’re not getting enough air from there could be blockage in your duct, a leak in your duct or dirty filters. Other causes can include damage to the blower’s capacitor or the blower’s motor.

4. The air conditioner is making lots of noise.

If you hear a lot of indoor noise when your air conditioner is running, your blower motor may be to blame. The sound could be coming from the blower motor blades or foreign objects trapped in the blowers.

5. The indoor blower blows and then stops after a short period of time.

This is called cycling and could be a result of a bad capacitor. Your internal thermal overload can cause the motor to do that. It’s best to turn off the air conditioner and call a professional.

As you can see, these common air conditioning problems could be due to a number of different reasons. Don’t suffer through the summer! Let a professional accurately diagnose your air conditioning problems so you can keep cool when the temperature rises. Contact us today!
